Review of Women Up On Blocks

I am thrilled to have a most excellent review (my first!) appear in the Winston-Salem Journal for my short story collection Women Up On Blocks. You can read it (pretty please?) here.

Yippee!!

WOW! That's a wonderful review! Good for you :^)

Having read the book, I concur wholeheartedly with the reviewer. Your ability to create characters we want to know more about is nothing short of wonderful.

Congratulations!

It is SO well-deserved. I can't tell you how much I have been thinking about your book, two stories in particular: (and I'm awful with title names, which is probably why I can never come up with one!) the one about the woman with disabilities whose husband "kills" the baby, and the one about the woman whose husband gets crushed by the car. Like I said in the Amazon review (yes, I'm stalking you!), I felt undone reading them. (by the way, I'm that person you met at AWP - though I keep my blog kind of, sort of, anonymous).

Heh, I know who you are, Miz Anonymous....and intelligent, well-read stalkers like you can stalk me any day. :)

Btw, it was me who just deleted a comment--kill typos, that's my motto!

Agreed, Ania! I'm a pacifist by nature, but typos are my exception. :)
